Congratulations on having completed your 12th standard. There are three major courses which attracts commerce pass-outs and they are CA, CS and CMA. While the former and the latter is more on accounting and financial aspect of a company, for CS am discussing below, as that is our point of discussion now!
CS or company secretary is someone who controls and is responsible for the efficient administration of a company, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and for ensuring that decisions of the board of directors are implemented. The position takes care of all legal formalities and statutory obligation to be followed correctly. ICSI stands for institute of company secretary of India. It has 3 levels of examination:-
Foundation (consisting 4 subjects)
Executive (consisting 7 subjects)
Professional (consisting 9 subjects)
Foundation:- It is related with subject of 12th class of commerce and a little bit of law part. Exam is conducted in MCQ format in online mode with no negative marking. Level of paper is easy.
Executive:- It has 7 subject in 2 groups :-
Group 1:-
1. Company law
2. Economic and commercial law
3. Cost and management accounting
4. Taxation
Group 2:-
Accounts
Industrial and labour laws
3. Securities laws
In this paper of cost and management accounting, taxation and industrial and labour laws are counted in MCQ format with negative marking. All the papers are of 100 marks with min passing marks are 40 and 50% aggregate marks in each group.
