"In Germany, Russia, India, and most of the European countries, college costs are much lower than they are here in the US. I would say a lot of this is due to cultural differences. These systems are based on meritocracy, and that would simply never fly in American society. In the US, we work off the assumption that everybody should have an equal chance to succeed.
