Hello Ritobeena Roy, many PSU's recruit young engineers in large numbers every year. Earlier there used to be allegations of nepotism and fraud in the process of conducting written exams. To avoid all this and to have a level playing field, these days PSU's use GATE examination results instead of conducting their own examination. Due to this which paper you have selected for giving GATE is actually not important. What is important is the ranking of the marks that you obtained in this examination and of course you are basic engineering graduation which is being sought by the concerned PSU. Best wishes to you.

Hello Shivesh Rai, it is nice to hear from you that you have passed your Diploma in mechanical engineering. However you have not clearly specified as to which course you are seeking admission and for which you are qurrying whether you are eligible or not. In general I can say that it the webpage of the directorate of technical education of your state will be giving in a tabular form as to which branch of engineering you will be eligible as Diploma in mechanical engineering. If your query is off some other course then I would kindly request you to post a fresh query on this issue. Best wishes to you.

For most of the post it is just graduation. But for post like statical officer you need statics or maths. For SSC CGL there is not any pre defined perfect subject combination but having any two/three from these combination is always good for future -
- History, Geography, Economics Maths, statistics, law. As these subjects knowledge is an added advantage in government jobs. For Assistant Audit officer CA CS MBA are desirable
For Junior Statistical Officer - Maths / stats
For compiler post - graduation with Maths/ stats/ economics
For all other post - graduation from any discipline. So it is good to have studied economics, statistics, mat
