Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Regarding embedded system, there is good scope for the electrical students because many MNCs are hiring the students mostly on the background of embedded systems course as this course is very important in the electronics field.

Regarding telecommunication, one may work in the communication industry, automobile industry, or in robotics. As specialist, one may focus on computing systems, industrial equipment, aerospace equipment (avionics) or biomedical devices.
Work essentially involves research, design and development, manufacture, servicing, sales, marketing and teaching.
So, in a nutshell, it's your decision to choose between the two lines. Think and decide wisely where do you wish to see yourself in future.
