Yes, it's really good to do MBA in IMU if you want to start your career in shipping or maritime industry. The MBA in IMU not only helps you understand the port industry along with the operations handled in port industry and the logistics too. Being a student of marketing I am doing my internship in Adani ports and SEZ. Talking about the salary, the IMU provided good package too. So, I must recommend MBA From IMU.

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology would be a better choice I guess. At Thapar, there are two options you get for CSE- at Patiala or Derabssi. You can choose whichever is convenient for you. Plus the placements are far better than VIT. They are accepting applications till 20th of May. If you are interested, you should get it done before that.

At present, CSE is saturated with so many students who pass out every year, and the tech companies don't differentiate between electronics, IT, Computer and electrical. So, there is a competition from other branches as well in CSE. A lot of my friends who were into these streams have ended up doing MBA. (When you eventually wanted to do MBA, why did you join Science stream? Could have taken commerce. So, many students who are ranked low at entrance exams are deprived as these people occupy their seats.
Anyways, civil has tremendous scope in many fields. Be it construction, transport, geotechnical, fluid mechanics, repair and maintenance
