The reasons why Amity University-Jaipur is better.
Placements: The placement cell of the university is very efficient and useful. Fruitful opportunities are provided through internships. Almost every field is covered for internships and placements. Companies like Cohn & Wolfe, News18, Wizcraft etc. Visited the campus for journalism. Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the best factors of the university. Sufficient labs and classrooms are provided for effective learning. The university provides full Wi-Fi on the campus. Also, hostels are very good. Almost every facility is being provided there.
Faculty: The course curriculum is definitely useful. The Bachelor's degree covers every field a student might be interested in. A practical approach for projects and assignments is provided. The teachers are helpful apart from the classes as well.
Other: The university provides lots of extracurricular activities. A person can explore every option, like sports, horse-riding, acting, golf, etc. Many events and fests take place in odd and even semester which gives a platform to the students to showcase their talent.

For UPSC, one must know, "What not to study". Start preparing for current affairs from now onwards as it will become past till the time you get ready to appear for the exam. Keep your knowledge updated about everything that is happening near you, nationally and internationally. One should be able to speak on any topic reflecting that one knows about it. Carefully revise general studies as it will be with you if you are in the regular practice of reading it. Keep thorough and in-depth knowledge of your stream of graduation. Read as many news papers and books as you can. Reading itself will develop a new and confident personality of yours.

1. First go through GATE syllabus completely.
2. Discuss with your seniors or already qualified students how they prepared for the exam.
3. Get standard textbooks.
4. See the weightage of each subject (you will get it readymade), based on the weightage, give priority to subjects.
5. Go through last 10 years question papers to get to know the quality and difficulty level of the questions in each subject and start reading each subject/topics from a standard textbook.
6. After completing each topic, try to solve previous years questions from that topic.
7. Repeat instruction 6 for each and every topic of full syllabus.
8. After completing each subject try to solve previous mock tests (available on net), if you feel comfortable with that subject then keep it for final revision or else work hard till you have a command over it.
9. Repeat instruction 8 for all subjects and keep revising already completed subjects.
10. Finally, try to solve 8-10 full-length mock tests.
