Most of the time, admission into the B.Sc. Forensic Science program at the Institute of Forensic Science, Mumbai, is based on the marks obtained at HSC (12th) and other eligibility criteria for the course.

As a rule of thumb, admission is based on a minimum percentage of 50% at HSC or equivalent examinations with subjects in Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics) related to it. It, therefore, remains almost completely dependent on the applicants and their final selection number of seats available.

If you score beyond the cut-off as per HSC, it is that you may get into the program; however, it is recommended again to fin

It depends on your situation like your financial conditions your priorities, academics etc.

Generally in counselling there will be a entrance exam and you have to prepare for it and clear it. After that, you will get a college but not necessarily of your choice, it's based on your rank, so there is uncertainty in counselling.

But in direct addmission you have to pay fees to college to get admission and you can take a college of your own choice, but you have to be financially stable for opting a private college.

With an 88% in your 12th grade, and an 86 percentile in JEE Mains 2024, you can get admission to CSE at SASTRA University. It's quite tough as the competition is enormous for this branch, but it is possible.

The process at SASTRA is rather interestingly different: 70% of the seats for this CSE programme are filled based on a composite score comprising 25% JEE Mains and 75% 12th board marks, while for the rest, 30%, admittance is based purely on board marks. Generally speaking, candidates having a JEE Main percentile of more than 90 and scoring more than 95% in boards have a higher chance at getting a seat in the CSE branch.

If you are repeating 12th exam, you should do it for all the subjects to pass 12th again as mentioned in the BITSAT brochure. If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only or only in few subject/s, you are not eligible. I passed 12th exam in 2024. Am I eligible to appear for BITSAT-2025?
ou can take BITSAT if you're appearing for your 12th board exam in the current year (2024) or have passed it in 2023. Droppers: If you're a dropper (reappearing for 12th), only your the latest attempt's marks count. This applies if you took all required subjects in that attempt.

Typically, for admission to undergraduate programs, universities and colleges primarily consider your Class 12th marks. However, specific requirements can vary by institution. Generally, your Class 11th mark sheet is not mandatory for the admission process, but it can be useful for certain administrative purposes or for building a comprehensive academic profile.

If you are applying through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), institutions might be more focused on your Class 12th results. Nonetheless, it is a good idea to keep your Class 11th mark sheet handy, just in case it is requested during the application process.
