These days the competition is becoming tougher in job market. The companies prefer to hire management post graduates. In case if you wish to join the corporate band wagon you need to do your post graduation in management. There are two options for doing post graduation in management :
1, PGDM - given by autonomous institutes duly approved by AICTE
For doing PGDM you may appear in following exams :
CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / CMAT
2. MBA - provided by university or university affiliated institutes. For doing MBA you will have to appear in CMAT.
For appearing in these exams you already have the basic qualification i.e. graduation in any stream with 50% marks.
Both MBA and PGDM (2yrs full time) are full fledged post graduation degree programs.
Better institutes for PGDM are IIM's, XLRI, GIM etc.
Better institute for MBA is FMS New Delhi.
If you wish you may joing coaching classes for preparation for the same. There you will be able to learn the techniques to improve the speed and easy ways to attempt the questiong, but the key to score better marks in these exams is always practice and practice and practice.

While selecting the best college, you need to check some of the important parameters such as recognition, year of establishment, batch size, syllabus, faculty, fees, placements etc.
2) Placements :
Regarding placements, every college provide assistance to successfully pass out students. But, no college can guarantee you placement as it entirely depends on your capabilities, utilization of skills, presence of mind, communication skills etc.
