Placements are very ambiguous and assistance is very poor. It's not amongst top 50 B Schools reputable in India. Only top 50 B Schools is something you should aim at for good job opportunities.

Hi Varun,
There is no perfect definition for what could be the best course. It will depend on the candidate. Whereas you may like robotics I may prefer bio-mechanics. So, look for a subject you will most likely enjoy. Biomechanics is a very trending subject but opportunities in India for this field will be less. Automobiles, mechatronics and robotics are the most popular and ever in demand. Many students also opt for manufacturing engineering and transportation design. Look for more subjects on university websites, you will find details as to which is what and you can decide accordingly.

Also, you should know that there is no campus placement in US or any foreign university. Universities have career assistance cell. You must network well and develop your skills mainly. Airline pilots are one of the most exciting job and one of the most paid job. A fresher usually gets Rs.75K and as your experience increases, your package also increases drastically. For an average, a pilot of 25-30 years, who has an experience of 1000 hours of flight get paid from Rs.2 lakhs to Rs.4 lakhs per month.
Although, you get paid in lakhs, but you have to keep Rs.20 lakhs to Rs.25 lakhs to attain your Commercial pilot license.

The current placement scenario in college is still ongoing and many more reputed companies still have to come for the placement. The average package offered for the freshers is Rs 3.75 to 4 lakhs. I hope this solves your query.

Hi Rahul,
On a lighter note, you can become a mechanical design engineer by applying in the companies.
To make a job as a mechanical design engineer:
1) Gain Knowledge about one 3d modeling software.
2) Keep machine design fundamentals strong.
3) Have knowledge about materials.
4) Learn more about manufacturing processes more.
This would at least get you breakthrough in the mechanical industry.

You have decent chances at IIM - Kashipur, Ranchi, Jammu, Trichy and Udaipur. Although, keep your options open with Tier 1 B-schools too.
