AMIE has equivalence value as engineering degree for departmental promotion cases in defense, govt and PSUs. However, they are are not considered for fresh engineering jobs. It has advantage that you may clear papers in your own time and can also choose the numbers of papers to appear for. Regular B.Tech. has all the advantages and for diploma holders, you can take direct admission in 2nd year through lateral entry scheme in any govt or private engineering college (except NIT and IIT)
