You have received a reasonably well percentile for your category in the examination conducted by NTA in the month of January. Regarding your query of any free seats in the NIT, I am afraid no NIT offers any free seats. What many state governments and Central Government also do is reimburses the fees to an extent paid by students belonging to SC or ST categories. For this you need to approach the management of the college once you get admission since administration will be knowledgeable about the whole process of the fee reimbursement.
Best wishes to you.
