Some of the top universities or institutes that you must apply for are:
IISc Bangalore
IISERs (consider all IISERs almost the same, however IISER Pune has an edge)
Jamia Millia Islamia University
University of Delhi (in colleges like Hindu College, Hansraj, Acharya Narendra Dev, Bhaskaracharya, etc)
Azim Premji University
A few IITs, like IIT Bombay, offer Dual degrees BS+MS in Health Informatics
NISER and CEBS, established by the Department of Atomic Energy — Dual degree/integrated MSc

You have completed your Diploma in mechanical engineering and is now working towards getting admission for degree course in aeronautical engineering. Right? I would strongly advise you to go for degree in mechanical engineering only as placements and job opportunities for Aeronautical Engineers are really low. Best wishes to you.

Several options include CA, B.Com. BA Economics, topics like Risk Management and Disaster Management are also trending. Alternatively you can opt for BA LLB, or bachelor degre courses in hospitality, event management etc. It will depend on your own interests and how you have projected your career to be like. Regarding SSC exam, you can apply for certain trainee level posts. You need to check the portal - http://ssc.nic.in/
