After completing B.Tech in Mechanical you have two option, either you can do MBA or you can do M.Tech in the relevant discipline. So, it is your choice about what do you want to pursue. AMIE, AMIETE, etc. were considered equivalent to B.Tech in the industry. Many of the past AMIE, AeSI, IETE engineers have achieved an exemplary position in the engineering society, but MHRD had issued a circular on 06 December 2012 mentioning that AMIE, AeSI, IETE recognition will be withdrawn on 30th of May 2013. Distance education engineering degree holders will also face problems related to AICTE recognition. National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) conducts a joint entrance examination (JEE) each year to offer admissions to aspirants in hospitality and hotel administration programs.
NCHMCT is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. NCHMCT was established in 1982.
By clearing NCHMCT JEE 2017, candidates can secure admissions in 21 central institutes of hotel management, 19 state government institutes of hotel management, one public sector undertaking and 13 private institutes of hotel management affiliated with NCHMCT.
Apart from this, a total of nine food craft institutes offer Diploma programs in specific hospitality related operational areas, through the council. All these colleges offer standardized course curriculum as prescribed by NCHMCT for the various programs that they offer.
