Hi Akshay,
In my opinion you should opt for separate courses. It is of high importance the reputation of the University from where you study as the tag of the univ will be with you for life and will matter every time you switch jobs or apply for your first job.

PGDM is much more demandable than MBA. As in case of PGDM the syllabus is regularly updated and industry ready compared to MBA. Also PGDM involves much more practical field experience than that of MBA. Whereas the main thing to be remembered is that doing an MBA you will be able tyo go for PHD surely whereas doing a PGDM you will be eligible for PHD if and only if the PGDM is AIU recognised.

Its not necessary to have area of interest, but, it helps you in personal interview if you have a bit of inclination towards any of the domain. But, you can tell in the interview that right now you do not want to focus on any particular stream, and after studying all the courses in first year and understanding what are the basic acumen required in a particular domain, and how does it match with your skill set, after that only you'll decide. But, in personal interview, there will be question asked about your work experience or graduation courses. So be prepared. All the best.
