Hello Samprita Shivanagoudar, changing colleges in 2nd year of engineering is of course possible theoretically. However in practice almost every college puts lots and lots of impediments. This is because they feel that one fees paying student is leaving them and there earning will stop to that extent. Hence my sincere advices that you should think of changing the institute I have initial that is from first year itself once again giving up your admission in your present college. Of course you should do this if the surrounding and the situation is so bad that it is almost next to impossible for you to survive in that campus. Again theoretically you should approach the administrative staff of your college for knowing the procedure for change of branch or the change of college or the change of University which award you are attempting. Admission Process
Admission is done through SRMJEEH (UG) Entrance examination, subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination as well.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate shall be completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
The Maximum age limit for admission is 30 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
He/She has passed the H.S.C / (10+2) or equivalent Examination from a recognized board / University in India with Minimum aggregate of 50 % Marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Botany + Zoology / Biotechnology , provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.
Candidate who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalent qualification as determined by the association of Indian Universites as per the guidelines to dertermine the eligibility and must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Botany + Zoology / Biotechnology and English up to 12th standard level.
The qualifying Examinations passed by FN/PIO/CIWGC Students should be considered equivalent to Eligibility Examinations by the Association of Indian Universities / Academic Council.

Eligibility Criteria
It is the policy of the Nagaland University to offer equal educational opportunities to all qualified persons, provided the following conditions are fulfilled by the applicant.
Eligible students for Major streams (internally or externally) will be given preference over General stream.
An applicant must have passed a three-year Degree Course with Honours/Major with 50% marks and for General stream students of Arts, Commerce and science with 55% in the concerned subject in which admission is sought.
5% marks relaxation for SC/ST category will be considered.
Applicants who have graduated from Colleges (Private/Govt./Autonomous) affiliated to Nagaland University shall be entitled to 10% weightage of bonus marks over others. For instance, a candidate who had passed out from any college affiliated to Nagaland University with 60% marks in graduation will get 6% as additional weightage and his/her total percentage will become 66% while drawing the merit index of selection.
The number of seats available for admission to each Department will depend upon seats authorized by the University.
