There are a lot of openings for you after B.Sc Physics. You can opt for M.Sc Physics, Astrophysics : - This sector has many job opportunities you may join M.sc. Astrophysics in any university or if you want to see yourself as a scientist/Researcher you can proceed with M.Sc. in Applied Physics, and then go for PHD.
There are many options available to you depending on your interests, core strengths and chosen career path. Other than the conventional courses, you could explore courses in management, teaching, research, finance/banking, media, corporate communications, retail, hospitality etc. Postgraduate diplomas in specialized areas like leather, sugar, plastics, processing, packaging or environment technology are some other options you could look at. Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete their B.Sc. degree in mechanical or marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field. In some cases, students who have completed their 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) are eligible to join as Deck Cadets.
Navigating Officers - Candidates will need to obtain a Certificate of Competency, as per the regulations in India relating to the examinations of Masters and Mates. Conducted by the Ministry of Surface Transport, in association with the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Mumbai, the examinations help determine the promotion prospects for the officers.
For training, the best training institution for the navigating officers is the T.S. Chanakya. Candidates who qualify from here, that is complete their first certificate of competency of Second Mate, need to go through a three year training in Nautical Science (B.Sc.) and then complete a year's duration of practical training in the deck department of a merchant ship.Selection is based on the Joint Entrance Examination given by the IIT; a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed and the Director General of Shipping has the authority to chose which of the 2 training programmes the candidate is best suited for (students can let their preference be known) Both the T.S. Chanakya and MERI institutions do help (under no Government obligations) in recruiting their graduates in suitable Indian Shipping Companies.
As far as remuneration and other benefits are concerned Merchant Navy is one of the few careers where the salary is relatively high. The pay is definitely different from company to company, depending on the city, country, export and import needs, seniority etc.

TATA Institute of Social Sciences conducts TISSNET 2016, which is a national level post graduate entrance exam. The exam is conducted for admissions to Masters in Social Work and related programs offered by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). TISSNET scores are accepted only by TISS Mumbai only. As per the official information, the registration for the test has started and aspiring candidates can fill the application form in both online and offline modes. The online process will continue till November 30 and the last date to register via offline method is December 1, 2015. The computer based test will be conducted on January 9, 2016, and the results for shortlisted candidates will be announced on February 2, 2016. Graduates from any discipline with a recognized bachelor's degree can apply for the application process for admissions in TISS Mumbai. The bachelor's degree must be of minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 system).
Final year candidates, who will be able to complete their Bachelor's Degree examinations by June 2016, are also eligible to apply.
The application process is both online and offline, where eligible candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any two of the TISS Campuses and other locations. : Candidates can visit the official website, fill and submit the same along with the fee online only. Candidates have to fill up the TISSNET 2016 Application Form with the required details. Once the candidates have submitted the filled in applications, an email for verification will be send, and the candidates have to verify the mail. After re-logging in, candidates can edit the complete Application Form and upload the necessary documents and certificates along with passport size photograph and signature.Candidates can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute by sending a request by Speed Post with application fees to Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The exam will be conducted around January in around 39 centers. The test will be computer based test which will have 100 objective questions to be answered within the duration of 1 hour 40 minutes. The results will be announced during February Selection will be based on scores in test, pre-interview and interview.
