Well to join Civil Services, you need to hold a graduation degree in relevant discipline. And there is provision for selection of optional later.
So you may pick either of Science, Arts and Commerce stream as either of the three ca taken you to your dream career as an I.P.S Officer.
*If mathematics and finance interest you then opt for commerce - you can opt for professional courses like Chartered Accountancy, Certified Financial Analyst, Cost Accountancy, Company Secretary with B.COM/B.B.A etc.
*If science interests you then you can pursue engineering, civil aviation, merchant navy, medicine, architecture, etc.
*On the arts side there are careers like Media, Management, Design, Arts, Psychology, Hospitality, Law or Academics, graphic designing, multimedia, web designing, networking, software, etc.
The choice will depend on your individual interests, personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals. It will help to work with career guidance professional. Alternatively you can take some online assessments of skills and personality to understand yourself better.

-Addressing the question on 'scope of CPA in india' and adding another perspective, scope of CPA in India is limited.Usually, MNC bank may hire CPAs instead of Indian MNC.CPA is recognized mostly by US and UK companies majorly by banks.and investment in CPA is comparably more than that is in CA.CPA is better for those who wish to migrate to Canada or USA/UK.
-The scope of CPA from career perspective may be limited too. For instance,in CA you have a subject called Forex management,which can take you towards a career in Treasury.CPA is good if you are keen on build a career around accountancy ,auditing and taxation while CA offers a wide spectrum of career options.
-Indian companies still prefer CAs to CPAs.It may be challenging to expect a bright and demanding future with CPA unless you migrate out of India.

As a friend I would suggest you to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.
