Every institute gives some weightage to each of the parameters: XAT test, Personal Interview, essay, so that total score can be estimated. The final selection will be based on the composite score of students.

For m.tech. gate exam is there, just you have to appear for that exam & even if you do not get the good marks the private institution are waiting for you. And if you score well you have a good chance of getting an IIT or an NIT.

CA gets better respect and package if they are rank holder and have cleared it in first attempt
If you are considering about graduation then you can opt for B.Com (Financial Accounts) from IGNOU. This course is specially designed for student who are doing CA course . This will give you a graduation and help you in CA. Even if you plan to do MBA you can do it on the basis of B.Com

The test is of multiple choice type which will be of 2 hours duration followed by an essay test which is of 20 minutes duration. The test consist following sections like : Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative ability and Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Essay Writing section.
