International students who wish to apply to the University of Rochester must submit the same application materials as domestic students. However, they must also provide proof of financial support and English language proficiency. If you’re interested in studying solely at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music for a Bachelor of music degree, you must apply directly through the Eastman School application.
To become an undergraduate student at the University of Rochester in Arts, Sciences & Engineering, international students must apply either as a first-year or a transfer applicant. They can apply online through the Common Application (CA) or the Coalition for College Application (CoA), International students who require immigration sponsorship as an F-1 or J-1 student should complete the New Student Intake Form.

The University of Rochester has high admission requirements for both domestic and international students. Here are the admission requirements for undergraduate students at the University of Rochester:
A high school GPA of 3.75 or better
A- grades in high school
SAT score of 1450 or better
ACT score of 33 or better
Graduate in the top 10% of your high school class
Submit letters of recommendation
Complete at least 32 semester units in academic coursework, chiefly English, mathematics, social sciences, laboratory sciences, and foreign languages
Honors, Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate courses are expected of students in secondary schools offering these programs
International students are required to submit proof of English language proficiency.

Yes. Rochester plans to keep granting admission to students whose "other" test scores support the overall merit of their application. Rochester will continue to consider test submissions other than the SAT or ACT. Rochester's test-flexible application option can be satisfied by a number of tests for students who decide to apply based on their test scores. Any of the following examinations will satisfy our test-flexible application option:
SAT Reasoning; apply code 2928 to waive the essay requirement.
Results from two or more of the following tests: SAT Subject Exams; AP; International Baccalaureate;* The University of Rochester will accept your reported SAT Reasoning, SAT Subject Test, ACT, or completed Andhra Pradesh test results for the purposes of admission evaluation.
