Advantages and disadvantages are very difficult to spell out. however, i would give it a try. well the AAIP is a broad based course so when we compare to a typical specialized course, then someone who's very clear of where he's going or if someone is already from this field, he should go for specialized course like say VFX Pro or Gaming etc. But for someone who's entering this field for the first time, he'd be better off going for AAIP, since then a lot mof options would open up in Graphic Design, animation design, game design, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose.
