Dear Abhi,
After clearing the UPSC exam, the recruitment is done underr the union/central government, advising the government on all the matters of recruitment methods, handle the disciplinary cases relating to civil services and to select the persons to meet the all India services.
There are basically three exams which comes under Civil Service Exam, viz, Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS) and Indian Foreign Services (IFS).
The officers will be required to work in different fields and in different parts of the country but under UPSC. They will be responsible for the execution of various activities and the progress of their organizations.
The pay scale may vary from department to department.
