Hello Soumya,
These days it's next to impossible to get admission in any engineering college without some or the other entrance exam. Of course there are few colleges that do accept marks of 12th but these need to be researched.

Hi,
MIT, Pune fills its seat via 2 ways one is through MHT-CET and the other is from JEE Mains, in MHT-CET, you need to score around 140-150 marks to get a good branch there and in JEE Mains, you need to score above 160 to get some branches there.

You need not to worry if you didn't perform well in JEE Mains. As per your criteria you may choose colleges through WBJEE like Heritage, IEM and Haldia and through MHCET like MIT-Pune, DY Patil and Singhad and through CUSAT like SOE. These colleges are quite cheap with respect to VIT and SRM.

The main eligibility is to get a good score in any of the management entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc. There is no GD in the admission process. Only PI is there and it is not that tough to clear. You can take MAT in May, but it's better to apply VJIM before the exam so that you can get updates on the admission i.e. if the seats are getting filled up or not.
