Yes, it is okay to start preparing in august people prepare from October, and giving CAT get a good percentile time is not the issue but strategy and consistency is the issue you need to develop this 2 things first and after you do this first make a strategy for each of the subject for VARC start reading from Aeon guardian times of India for IRDI practice from past year papers and mocks for quant go through basic modules like arithmetic geometry Number System etc. And clear your concept then give sectionals and mock tests and analyze the test and that's it hope it will help you.
