You can request for branch change only at the end of the second semester. The fulfilment of the eligibility criteria for branch change is also crucial. IT Kanpur BTech/ BSc Fee Breakdown

IIT Kanpur fee for all BTech and BSc specialisations is the same. Below fee is valid for 2023 batch:

IIIT Allahabad offers four-year BTech course in three specialisations. As per the JoSAA website, the institute offers BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Technology - Business Informatics. Admission to these courses is based on merit in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. Aspirants must check eligibility requirements before applying for the exam. 

BTech CSE has the most competitive cut-off, the 2021 cut off in round six for CSE stood at 2897. Moreover, the placement statistics of CSE graduates is also better among all the specialisations. During 2022 placements, the median and average package offered to BTech CSE students  was INR 28.7 LPA and INR 28 LPA, respectively.

Candidates shall bring originals and copies of all the necessary academic certificates, JEE  scorecards, address proof, ID Proof , passport-size photographs, etc.

The CAT VARC section is dominated by RC questions. Out of 24 questions about 14-16 are based on Reading Comprehension passages and the rest of them are based on parajumbles, para completion, etc.

CAT has about 12-16 RC question. Since, it is not mandatory to solve all the questions, candidates can maximize their scores by leaving out the questions related to the passage they find the toughest. There is negative marking in CAT so candidates must ensure that they mark only the correct options or do not mark any option at all.

Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Jodhpur is based on performance in the all-India level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), followed by JEE Advanced. Based on JEE Advanced score, candidates need to take part in JoSAA counselling. Candidates can apply on the JEE official website (nta.ac.in). Candidates who secure a rank more than or equal to the IITJ BTech cutoff become eligible for admission.

In XAT, Reading Comprehension passages are usually taken from Philosophy, Psychology, History, Art, research articles. Sometime, the XAT RC section also has poems. These areas are chosen to test the candidates, who are largely Science, Commerce and Engineering graduates, on their ability to come out of their comfort zone and adapt to unfamiliar situations. Out of 26 questions, about 14-16 questions are based on RC passages or a poem. Candidates must target solving about 10 questions accurately to score well. XAT has negative marking so do not mark an option as your answer if you are not 100 percent sure of it.
