The GATE marks is the actual marks obtained by the candidate. It is calculated out of 100. On the other hand, the GATE scores is calculated out of 1000 using a formula of GATE normalisation process. The GATE result will be released on March 19.

GATE 2026 answer key link will be activated once exam is completed. Authorities will release along with response sheet and question paper. Candidates can download GATE answer key using enrollment ID and password.

The fees for challenging GATE answer key will be updated on the official website. Candidates who have appeared GATE exam can only challenge. The accepted mode of payment are netbanking, credit card, debit card, or UPI.

Candidates who want to raise an objection against the answer key will have to first login using their credentials, then look for the answer they want to object. Select and provide justifications to the question, pay the fees and submit. It must be noted that only GATE provisional answer key can be challenged.

At the MET exam centre, the students will have to bring one valid identity proof. They are allowed to bring any one of the following – Aadhaa Card/Voter ID/Passport/PAN Card/School ID, etc. No photocopies of the identity proof will be allowed.

No, the authorities will not accept digital copies of the MET admit card at the exam centre. All students will have to bring a print out of their hall ticket for verification. If the students do not have the physical copy of their admit card, they will not be allowed to attempt the exam.

Over the years, the following branches have the highest cutoff in GATE exam -

  • Computer Science and Engineering, being the most demanding branch, followed by
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

These branches have the highest registered applicants and cutoff every year due to the industry growth.

If students are not given their preferred MET exam slot, it may be due to inavailability of exam centre. They will be given their next preference. In case of any problem, students should contact authorities.

IIT JAM 2026 application correction window was opened by IIT Bombay till November 10, 2025 and it was started by October 31, 2025. Registered candidates will be able to make changes in their personal details like name, date of birth, category, exam city and paper.

MET application fee is INR 800. While filling the MET application form, the fee has to be paid by the students before the last date. If they cannot pay the fee, then the form cannot be submitted. The fee has to be paid online.
