Eligibility for B.Tech Lateral Entry:
The students who have scored 60% and above in the Diploma in engineering course from State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized institution can apply for the graduation program.
Only a pass in Diploma is enough for the students from backward communities.
Final year candidates are also eligible to attend the test.
How to prepare:
Revise the subjects you have studied in your diploma course.
It is fully based on Diploma course and Mathematics is based on 11the and 12th class so you should concentrate on it and try to solve previous year's papers.

It's sound good to compare IIIT-H with the IITs, NITs. People generally prefer IIIT-H over lower and new IITs and the NITs.
The only factor on which I can compare VIT and IIIT-H is the fees. Both the college have the fees around Rs 2 lakhs/annum.
For the rest of factors, there is no comparison.
P.S. Don't go blindly with the rank if you have seen published by some local survey.
