As CAT is one of the toughest Entrance Examination it would not be easy to prepare for CAT through self study so, advisable would be to join a coaching Institute as in the coaching Institutes there would be faculties who could guide you & peer group with whom you can discuss and clear your doubts. Also, if the institute is at all India level you will get AIR for your mock test which will help you in knowing your strengths and weaknesses.
If you plan for self study, I would say there is no one set of books which you can consult. You can prepare through various tests prep books available in the market such as R.S. Aggarwal, Galgotias, and Meenakshi & Arun Sharma. read more and more novels, listen to news, read news paper daily, especially the article section, also consult your NCERT books starting form 9th till 12th which will help you strengthen your basics.
There is no concrete plan which I can suggest you for preparation the only advice I would give is the key to success in such Entrance Examinations is Time Management and remember there is no short cut to hard work

If you are planning for a full time PGDBA programme through a recognized Institute in that case it would not be possible, as you require to have graduation from a recognized University to get into any decent full time PGDBA programme. However if you are looking for distance learning or correspondence programme you may find Institutes which will accept your three years Diploma.

As you have 15 years of work experience, one of the good options for you could be EMBA through IIMs although; it is not a distance learning degree. If you are only looking for part time or correspondence programme you can check the following:
Part time
FMS, Fore School of Management, NIRMA, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Indian Institute of Technology (M, D), S.P.Jain, Welingkar, etc.
Correspondence:
IGNOU, Annamalai University, Anna University, Amity, Symbiosis, IMT, etc
You can also check for some Satellite programmes provided by XLRI, IIM Calcutta etc.

After completing 12th class in which field you are interested. You not mention in the question that in which field you want to go. After completing 12th with science stream most of the student goes in the field of engineering or in medical. This is your career so you can choose any field by own interest.
If you are interested in the engineering field then after 12th examination with PCM as the main subject you can appear in the many entrance examination like IIT JEE, AIEEE, WBJEE, ORJEE, VITEEE, KIITEE, COMEDK.and many other.
If you are interested in the medical field then after 12th class with PCB as the main subject you can appear in the many entrance examination like AIIMS, AIPMT, JIPMER.and many other for the admission in the MBBS course.
If you are not interested in the field of engineering/medical then you have many other option to improve your career. You can do BCA, BMS, CA, B.Sc,BBA,B.Com etc.
Now depend on you in which field you want to go. I advise you to choose any field by own interest not by parents or other interest. It is your career so decide any thing by self.

Hi Sunil,
As MBA IT is still a budding field, there are not many Institutes which provide this degree. However, few of the institutes which you may consider are: K. J. Somaiya, IICT, S.P. Jain, Symbiosis etc. K. J. Somaiya gives a part time programme, rest are Distance learning. There is no concrete information on the class schedule so I would suggest you to contact the Institutes directly.
