It all depends on the individual's field of interest. Medical is lucrative field, but requires great effort from the individual. Comparatively art and Commerce need slightly less efforts but not very easy going. If one targets CA after B.Com, then it again needs equally great efforts.

IIT is just a tag. Which is a dream for all. Yes, the packages are high for IIT student since the college is government and the student has also some talent and skill. But I would like to say that your placement does't totally depend upon your college but it is actually depends on you. You talent, knowledge, command over your field etc. Some people arena't of IIT but they do get the high packages and are recruited by Google, Microsoft etc. Just do the hardwork, participate In extra curricular activities, be active and maintain your academics.

According to the best of my knowledge, I would like to suggest you that both BBA and B.Com have their own merits. It depends entirely on your interest before choosing either of the courses.
If making a career in management is your priority, then you should go for BBA as it is the foundation of management and has been specifically designed for MBA aspirants.
B.Com, on the other hand, is much more diversified and has a wider scope for specialisation for post-graduate study.
