If you want to gain good knowledge, and study a lot then SASTRA is the place for you. If you are looking for a great social and extracurricular life, then SASTRA is not the place for you. There are lots of placements happening in CSE and IT departments in Sastra University. In my knowledge, the highest package is 20 LPA from PayPal and the lowest being TCS for 3.25 LPA. I have also heard of packages greater than 20 LPA (27 LPA if I am not wrong), but yes, SASTRA is good for CSE and IT.

There are a lot of colleges of which listing would be difficult. It would have been easier if you could have stated the state/ region, you are seeking to pursue your B.Arch programme.
