As per your interest in piping engineering, I would say that it is related to mechanical field. The prospects for a mechanical engineer are good in pipeline design. Most of the job openings in this field are in the Gulf and Middle East.

After diploma in mechanical engineering, you may opt for lateral B.Tech course in which you can directly enter into the second year. Degree course will open more opportunities for you.
In the 7th semester of the degree course you will get a chance to choose between elective subjects. You may choose the desired subject (piping) at that time. And opt for short term piping courses along side. For the institutes offering professional courses, you may refer to the below link :

Procedure :
To take admission in lateral course, there is Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests. You may directly contact the university officials as lateral entry criteria and admission procedure differs from one college to another.
