In case you don't get your desired college, don't settle for some mediocre college. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if your try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Arch. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of NATA and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12 marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12 or JEE or NATA. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements. ECE is about electronics and how the different electrical components communicate with each other but CSE deals with telling these components what to do and when to do by programming them. It has a lot of logic in world and maths too. Placement wise ECE is a little better than CSE as it has more offers in the public sector (government. Jobs) also ECE is considered to be somewhat of a "evergreen" branch. If you do specialisation after doing B.Tech in ECE there is a great demand in the market was such people. ECE person can also get job in IT; but this is not the same level as a job a CSE engineer can get. CSE also has very good placement and the average salary is higher than ECE but it is not an "evergreen" branch example Google, Microsoft, Infosys, etc. In the end it all comes down to interest. Yes ECE has an edge over CSE when it comes to placement but if you excel in CSE and have true passion for it you will probably do better than most ECE people.
