Eligibility of Food technology is 10+2 (50%) with physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology or agriculture (PCB/mathematics/ agriculture) as primary subjects. In addition to this, many institutes have their own entrance examinations, which the student has to undertake to be able to pursue the relevant course.

If you want to Join NIFT then Go for PG course because it's a 2 year course and you will get many more oppertunities after Masters degree as compare to UG course.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor in Design Programme (Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Desgin, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, Fashion Communication).
The candidate must have passed 10+2 level examination from any Central/State Board of Examination such as CBSE or State Board New Delhi and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi
Or
The candidate must have passed General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge
