Fashion design is a form of art dedicated to the creation of clothing and other lifestyle accessories. Modern fashion design is divided into two basic categories: haute couture and ready-to-wear.Fashion design is influenced by cultural and social latitudes, and has varied over time and place. Fashion designers attempt to design clothes which are functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. They consider who is likely to wear a garment and the situations in which it will be worn. They have a wide range and combinations of materials to work with and a wide range of colors, patterns and styles to choose from.
The eligibility to pursue a Fashion design course:
Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor’s Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.

IMI Bhubaneswar uses CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT scores along with sectional scores and other academic parameters like marks in 10th, 12th and graduation for the purpose of shortlisting. The selection criteria are independent of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT scores. It varies across the years just as the short-listing criteria and depends on the overall profile of the applicants each year.
The placement report for the current year would be available soon. The average salary last year was Rs. 7.14 Lakh with a highest salary offer of Rs. 7.75 Lakh. You can opt for either Graduate Diploma or Masters in a number of sections under Pharma which includes Clinical Practice, Health Services Management, Community Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice etc. and of course Master of Pharmacy.
Some options include University of Western Australia, Curtin University, University of South Australia and University of Queensland. IELTS requirements is 6 to 6.5 depending on the university. Please check the university websites for a better understanding of the various programmes offered, admission requirements and procedure.

he MICAT has been designed as a comprehensive test to assess analytical and verbal ability, logical reasoning, divergent thinking, written communication skills, creative potential and general awareness about contemporary social and industry related issues including areas covering media, marketing, advertising and business.
We expect our prospective candidates to be well-read, innovative and intelligent with an analytical bent of mind. A regular habit of reading newspapers and practice in analytical and creative writing would be useful.
GE and PI - These consist of a series of interactions with the candidates to assess their suitability for the Strategic Marketing and Communication driven industry sectors. This does not require any prior preparation.
All candidates who apply to MICA with their scores of CAT2015 / XAT2016 / GMAT (2012 onwards), will be called for MICAT, subject to their application form being complete and accepted by MICA. XAT and other entrances are AICTE pre-requisites and there are no standard cutoffs for the same. There are no standard cut-offs for the MICAT as well. Individuals taking the MICAT must attempt and complete all the sections of the test satisfactorily to qualify for the GE & PI.
