AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is an entrance test for aspirants willing to join Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical). The examination is conducted twice a year in February and August. The test is conducted all across India by the Indian Air Force. AFCAT Eligibility for Flying Duty: - Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

The eligibility criteria for CAT is graduation with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and disabled candidates). So, if you meet the above criteria, then you are eligible. Further, the weightage of academic qualifications in selection contribute about 30%. Hence, this is very important component in selection. However, there are many of B-Schools where you can get the opportunities if done well at CAT level.

NDT courses are very useful from learning view of point for a Mechanical engineer, but cannot help in finding the suitable Jobs. However, if you wants to start your own startup, then this could be good for you. NDT courses are very helpful for chemical and metallurgist people because of their stream. Different designing colleges have different entrance exams. NIFT's entrance this year was in the month of January. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait for next year now. Usually the dates are declared in the month of October when the admission forms are out.
