Hi, according to my point of view NITs are the best government colleges in India.
NIT, Jamshedpur you can choose. It has a great environment. A good to go sized campus, and in the vicinity of the market place. Co-operative people, great security and greenery all around. Experienced professors: In core branches like mechanical and civil we have some really experienced professors. With teaching experience more than probably your age.
Great Hostels: NIT Jamshedpur has one of the best hostel facilities in the country. Two mega hostels, with an accommodation of 1500 students (two buildings, 7 storey). Almost throughout your stay at NIT Jamshedpur you will get a single seater room. Which is a rare case for government colleges. Even the old hostels are well maintained and built.
Great Food: If you are from North India, I BET you will not complain about the food. Talking in relative terms, NIT Jamshedpur has better food than almost all colleges, with food being provided 4 times a day. Decent Placements: NIT Jamshedpur has great placements, with more than 120 companies visiting the campus every year you get to see some really great packages. Two students bagged 67 LPA in 2015. You shout out a domain of interest and you have a club for that. You will get active participation in all clubs and most of the clubs are free of cost to get into. For eg. Doing AMIE is not so easy task, many of students registered for AMIE after completion of their Diploma programs but few of them are able to clear both of the sections. This is because of the lack of inconsistency in the study. All the things depend upon self and once you stopped at any moment of difficulty than all the things go the beyond of control. So the required pace and consistency could not be achieved while studying in self-learning mode. Further, AMIE is not now suitable for employment purpose also because most of the recruiters prefer a regular degree. So B.Tech lateral may the best option for you, because this is regular degree and have full validity for employment and higher education purpose.
