There is good scope to build your career in almost every branch of engineering.
While selecting a branch, you should focus on what all you will study in a particular branch and choose a branch according to your interest and skills.
This is 2014 and you are going to do job in 2018. Evaluate the future opportunities in both the fields You may discuss with your seniors and others about the pros and cons of each branch and make a decision which will help you in building a rewarding career.
As far as scope and salary is concerned, it depends on you. If you have interest in the field then your chances of enjoying a successful career are more.
After B.E. /B.Tech, you have your options:
M.E./ M.Tech to study on the technical side
MBA, if you wish to move your career on the management track
Gain work experience for a couple of years in private or public sector. That may give you a clearer picture of your interest area to decide between M.Tech and MBA.
So, in a nutshell, you should pursue a course based on your interest and skills as it will help you to achieve your long term career goals. Think and decide wisely where you wish to see yourself in future
