Please remember in order to pursue Phd, from universities in US, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
Overall, it may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.

*Another way- you can complete your senior secondary education (equivalent to class XII) through National institute of Open Schooling.
You'll be required to produce the copy of the Certificate of the Secondary Examination passed from a recognized Board of Secondary Education duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Procedure :
- To take admission, you need to sit for Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests.
- Eligibility for admission to lateral entry course is a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the Diploma course.
You may directly contact the university officials as lateral entry criteria and admission procedure differs from one college to another.
