From my personal experience, I am saying this that there are no disadvantages of CSE programme at Chandigarh University. Computer Science and Engineering at Chandigarh University has always been a very popular choice. Every year many students prefer CSE from here, and after experiencing the university, I understood the reason. The location is very convenient, in the centre of North India, connected to Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. Cabs and autos are easily available, so travel is never a problem. The campus has modern infrastructure with smart classrooms, high-tech labs, and a strong alumni network. Students also get exposure through tech fests, hackathons, and workshops. The programme is globally accredited by ABET and NBA, which makes the degree recognised everywhere. Placements are a big plus, with many students selected in top companies. The faculty are very supportive and guide students well in academics and career. Hostels are comfortable, safe, and have all facilities like Wi-Fi and 24/7 security. Overall, the university gives good learning and career growth.

Getting an 8+ CGPA in CSE looks tough but it is not if you keep a balance. The system is simple. Marks come from both internal and external exams. If you attend classes, do assignments, and prepare for midterms, half of the work is done. The rest depends on final exams.
In CSE, subjects are a mix of coding, theory, and projects. If you keep studying a little every day, it becomes easy. Consistency matters more than late-night study before an exam. Teachers also explain in detail, so listening in class saves time. Many students target an 8 CGPA and reach it because the evaluation is fair.

The main point is regular practice, not running after last-minute notes. If you follow lectures, revise weekly, and solve past papers, an 8+ CGPA is very much possible. It needs discipline, not genius.

Getting a job after CSE is a big dream for many students. But placements follow rules. First of all, students must meet all eligibility. No active backlog is allowed. Most companies ask for a CGPA above 7 or 7.5 to sit in their drive. Few top firms even prefer 8 CGPA and more. If a student is already placed, they cannot sit again. Students should also have no suspensions or fines, and regular in activities like DCPD sessions. Along with CGPA, credit score and attendance are also checked.

The process is simple but strict. First is an online test. Then coding round, followed by technical interview, and finally HR interview. So, having 7.5 CGPA or above with clear record is considered safe. But skill, practice, and confidence matter equally. CGPA only opens the gate, selection depends on performance.

Chandigarh University gives a programme in CSE with focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. For admission, you need 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects. Along with this, you can take Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Informatics Practices or IT as the third subject. Minimum 70% marks are required in total.
And if you meet the eligibility criteria you need to pass the CUCET exam which is mandatory for CSE AI & ML and this is not just a test, this also gives you a chance to avail several scholarships. By scoring well in CUCET, students can get up to 100% scholarships. The university gives Rs 210 Crores worth of scholarships, helping students a lot. To keep the scholarship, students need to maintain a CGPA of 7.5, which motivates them to study well.

CSE is a broad field and in Chandigarh University it comes in many shapes. The core B.E. Computer Science is the base. Then there are options with focus like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Cloud, IoT, and Data Science. Some are honors courses and some are industry collaborated programs with IBM, TCS, and Microsoft. These help students learn updated skills. Along with Bachelor courses, there are M.E. programs too such as CSE, Cloud Computing, Robotics, and AI. In short, the structure cover both undergrad and postgrad level with wide range of choices. This let students explore simple computer Science or deep special subjects in one campus.
