Some colleges provide direct admissions
The candidates can apply for B.Tech Marine Engineering through entrance exams or direct entry. Most of the institutions take admission through entrance exams. Some institutions like C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar offer direct entry alongside entrance test.

Production engineering branch has more better scope in terms of placement but limited opportunity compared to mechanical engineering. Other than this, you can do GATE from both these branches. Better to go for production engineering.
