Diploma opens up new vistas in life. It gives you skills to bag a job. It gives you foundation for further studies if you desire. Choice is yours. If you can afford to spend next 3/4 years studying without bothering of finances, then I would advise you to go for graduation in engineering. Else think of the education loan for studying.
But tell me, which course do you want to pursue? Opt for the course in which you have interest.

In other query, you are asking about the courses to be done after completing Diploma. Which course do you want to pursue? Fundamentally, all subjects are good. They are mere stepping stones. Your performance in the job, resourcefulness and dedication are few of the important issues.
You can shine in any environment provided you like it and are willing to work hard.
