As Distance learning programmes have no neutral ranking or rating almost all the Distance learning Institutes are placed equally. Few of the things on which you can make your judgment are: First and foremost the recognition of the Institute (the institute must be recognized by UGC or AICTE & DEC), Secondly the course curriculum and the study material, whether there is faculty or online support or not, last but not least Institutes reputation in the job market. Also keep in mind that symbiosis is providing a PG Diploma and is only approved by DEC whereas, SMU gives you an MBA degree and is UGC & DEC approved.

The most important thing which you want to keep in mind while choosing your specialization is your own interests and career aspirations. However, as you are doing Economic (Hons) which means you have a strong hold on your mathematical and logical skills, Finance could be a good option. The other options which you may explore are: Operations or HR.

The difference between BBA and B.Com is that BBA is completely a Business focused degree which will include subjects like Management principles, Business Economics, Business Mathematics, Database Management, Operations research etc. whereas B.Com would focus more on subjects like Corporate accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting etc. However, there are lots of similar subjects covered in both the degree programmes as the base from where the degrees have been generated is the same i.e Commerce.
