To convert your percentage into CGPA, we will have to apply the percentage to CGPA formula which is:

CGPA = Percentage ÷ 9.5

So, a CGPA of 75% of marks would be: CGPA = 75 ÷ 9.5 = 7.89

In general, universities abroad require a minimum of 3.3 CGPA on a 4-point scale. A 7 CGPA on a 10-point CGPA scale corresponds to a 2.8 CGPA on a 4-point scale. Hence, a 7.0 CGPA might not be as good if you are seeking admission to a good university abroad and you might face disappointment on your application for admission by most universities abroad.

You can use the CGPA to percentage formula to convert CGPA into percentage. The CGPA to percentage conversion formula is:

CGPA = (Percentage ÷ 9.5)

Let us understand the application of the CGPA to percentage formula by using an example. For example, if your percentage is 76.5, your CGPA would be:

CGPA = 76.5 ÷ 9.5 = 8.05263.

You can round it upto two decimal places for convinience. Hence, your CGPA comes out to be 8.

The UP Board may make small updates each year, such as the number of objective questions or changes in marks distribution. For the 2025-26 exam, the board has not released any updates for exam pattern. The students are advised to visit this page and official website time to time to check the latest syllabus and pattern released by the UPMSP (Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad).

The official website will have the updated exam pattern and sample papers. Keeping track of any changes helps students prepare well and avoid surprises. It's important to follow only official information.

The UP Board exam question papers includes objective (multiple choice), very short & short answer, and detailed answer type questions. Objective questions usually carry 1 mark each and are based on the full syllabus. Short and long answer questions require students to explain topics in more detail. This mixed pattern helps to test both understanding and writing ability. Students should practice all types of questions during their preparation.
