To accomplish CCNP you will first need to clear the CCNA exam from CISCO. And the duration for these courses are approximately as under:
CCNA - 2months
CCNP - 2 and a half months
We at Shiksha also advise you to check the lab set up of the institute before joining as in CCNA/CCNP exam you will see more emphasis on practical based questions like routing algorithms parameters, Switching Logic data, etc.
I myself being CCNA and CCNP holder would also advise you to prepare from the tutorials on the web in parallel, as many questions straight away come in the exam from therein too.
Also do ask the institute to have 1-2 demo exams befor
