The entire process is pretty straight forward and it is explained in brief:
1. You need to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in each physics, chemistry and maths. For marine engineering, however, you need 60% marks in these 3 subject plus 50% in English.
2. Once the results are out, you need to fill the application form either online at 5. Make sure you keep all your marksheets and a demand draft (DD) of Rs. 500/- handy at the time of filling the application form.
3. If you have filled the online form, you'll have to take a print out of the completed form. Submit the printout/physical form along with a DD for Rs. 500/- at one of the above specified centers.
4. Once all the applications are received, TNEA will publish a rank list on its website based on PCM marks out of 200. For this, they convert marks in mathematics out of 100 and combined marks in physics and chemistry out of 100.

Hello Dikshant, I will advise you to listen to yourself. If you are really interested in BCA. Then you should go for BCA. You really don't like Marine Engineering? If No then don't choose Engineering don't choose it on the pressure from another. Have you given Aptitude Test if not. Then give it if possible. From this test we can see in Which fields we are interested and do you have the skills. You can also talk to a counselor about it. If You really wanna do BCA and after that MCA or as you say specialisation in Data Science then go for it. Also try to understand why your Parents are telling you to do Marine Engineering. Have they heard anywhere about it. That it is good or it has good scope, etc. Is your any relative or there Children doing it. Because sometimes it happens they may come under the Influence of relatives or there friends. Or may be they have read any article or anything related to that. Talk with them. Discuss with them. Put your side, your thoughts in front of them. They will understand. You have to talk clearly about your choice. Understand each others side. Then surely they will understand. Also ask yourself. What you really wanna do. If you have decided to do that. Ask yourself do I have skills and aptitude and passion for that. See interest changes. As we change our Interests changes. Interest can be developed. So it is really important to love it have passion for it. Think Properly with calm mind.
