It really depend on what you mean by a low score. Also there are plenty of business schools that take into other factors too, like your class 10 and 12 marks and the extra curricular activities you participated in. So, even if you have scored around a 50 percentile, but had, lets say a very good extra curricular record having being the games captain of your school, then I would suggest for MAPS.
Just to let you know, MAPS is backed by two of the largest educational companies - Educomp, India and Raffles, Singapore. For more information, please log into their official website, http://www.maps.edu.in/

Following which you would be asked to come for GD/PI and based on all the metrics like X,XII, graduation %, MAT score, Gd/PI score and extracurricular will the admission and scholarship be decided.
For the BTech Course, you need to take AIEEE, UPTU exams to qualify for admissions of this institute.
So even if you have a low CAT/AIEEE score, but if you have done well in other fields like debating, sports etc you stand a good

What you've heard is very true! They have a designated placement cell which is headed by people like R. Jayaraman, who is an MBA from IIM-A with plenty of years of leadership and CEO and Anuj Ahuja, who is from IIM-B and has been a visiting faculty to top business schools in Delhi. Moreover, it also gives placement assurance to students from various companies, http://www.jre.edu.in/images/downloads/jre-educomp.pdf'>http://www.jre.edu.in/images/downloads/jre-educomp.pdf
