NIT Agartala is much better than NIT Nagaland. It was established in the year 1965 and recieved the tag of NIT in 2006. It is considered the second best institute in north east India after IIT Guwahati. The faculty members and facilities available here are much better than other NIT's. NIT Agartala has better infrastructure and also, have had good placement records. So, if you are looking for good placements, you should opt for NIT Agartala.

No, you cannot get direct admission in NIT Nagaland.

A candidate must secure atleast 55% in Class XII in Science Stream. Secondly, candidate must clear JEE Mains exam for undergraduate admission and GATE for postgraduate programmes. Further, a candidate has to also appear for counselling to confirm their admission. BTech is offered in NIT Nagaland across 6 specialisations. 

NIT Nagaland is based in Dimapur, Nagaland. It has a sturdy infrastructure that provide access to a central library and clean classrooms and labs. The overall infrastructure is great. The hostel for boys and girls are seperate and the main building is close to them. There are immense facilities for sports in the campus with indoor activities including Table Tennis, badminton, chess and carrom for rejuvenation. The outdoor games include football and cricket. St. Pauls College admission to the BA programme is merit-based. The total fee is ranges from INR 1.2 Lacs to INR 1.6 Lakh, due to various specialisation offerd by the St. Pauls College. The cut off for Electronics and Communication Engineering in NIT Nagaland was JEE Mains rank of 55187 in the year 2021 and a minimum score of 95 percentile. Whereas, in the year 2023, the cutoff of JEE Mains rank for NIT Nagaland was 57343.  The average package of electronics and communication engineering in NIT Nagaland is INR 7.63 LPA.

The lowest package offered at NIT Nagaland went to as low as INR 3.25 LPA. The average package is around INR 8.09 LPA with top recruiters being McAfee, Deloitte, TCS and Capegemini.  But, the highest package goes upto INR 20 LPA. For pursuing a M.Tech Program in NIT Nagaland, candidate has to give GATE entrance exam. The average of admission into NIT Nagaland in the past years has been ranging between 500-700. The admission process after GATE clearance includes CCMT counselling after which a candidate can secure his/her seat in National Institute of Technology, Nagaland.

Yes, there is an entrance exam for admission to PhD course at Suryadatta College. In order to get admission, students either need to qualify for PhD Entrance Exam (PET), which is conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University at its own centres. Else, students who are CSIR UGC NET/ JRF/ GATE qualified or teacher fellowship holders or have passed MPhil from SPPU are exempted from PET exam. SIMMC offers admission to PhD across three Management specialisations. These are Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Financial Management.

NIT Nagaland Placement Companies

Suryadatta Institute of Management and Mass Communication (SIMMC) offers PhD course across three specialisations namely, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Financial Management. Aspirants can choose either of the specialisation for their PhD programme.

NIT Nagaland has concluded its 2022 placement drive. The highest salary offered was INR 45 LPA which increased by 309% as compared to 2021. The highest package was offered to the student of CSE department. NIT Nagaland average package stood at INR 8.09 LPA.

First of all, there is no point of talking about NIT Nagaland’s Mechanical Branch placement because it has started just last year (2016), ie its’s first batch.

Now, come to ECE branch, students have got placed in IT companies in college. And some of them have got core companies in pool campus.

Since, It’s a new institute even though placements are good enough.

With comming batches it will improve and even the core companies of ECE will also visit the campus, from this year.

In order to get admission to PhD at Suryadatta Institute of Management & Mass Communication, students must have a PG degree with 55% aggregate in the respective subjects (5% relaxation is given to reserved category and candidates from Maharashtra domicile). Else, candidates who have cleared MPhil course word with 55% aggregate can also apply.
