Dear Mohith,
Actually, lots of opportunities and a good salary is available in the automobile sector and that's why people opt for this. Choosing automobile engineering in today's time is a good choice.
In comparison with the software engineer i.e. CSE, it's less good because software engineer has the highest salary package. Moreover, there are lots of opportunities in software sector in India and abroad.
A software engineer can get up to 1 crore LPA which is next to impossible for an automobile engineer.

Dear friend,
After the completion of your degree course. The company decides your salary based on your skills, but mostly it depends on the university and its stature. For local college degree holders, they get around Rs. 12000 as a fresher. And for reputed college students, they get the maximum of Rs. 35000 as a fresher, but if you have completed engineering from IIT, you gets 8-9 LPA. So if you are willing to study from a reputed college then prepare for the entrance examination right from now. You should focus on JEE Mains more.
All the best.

Go through Career Launcher's course, I found that good. An alternative that you can go for if you're dedicated enough is to get a comprehensive list of topics that are covered/asked in CAT, and then search for online tutorials on YouTube. For a fact I know that all QA and DA topics are covered. You can check for VA too.

Hello Vikas,
Companies salary packages are almost wholly dependent on demand and supply. More supply means less salary and less supply means higher salary. Also, MNCs normally offer better packages than Indian companies. All in all, you can expect CTC of around 4 to 6 Lakhs per annum.
