Yes - LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) is the major admission test of the majority of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Lovely Professional University, and it is significant in the admissions. This standardized test will assist LPU to fairly measure the aptitude, knowledge of the subject and preparedness of the students to the higher education and the learners would be placed in programs they can best cope with.

LPUNEST is also characterized by a benefit of scholarship - students who achieve high results are entitled to high amounts of fee waivers and therefore it makes the education of high quality available at lower cost and easier to achieve. In the case of certain specialised programs, high accomplishment in LPUNEST may lead to other privileges like elevated scholarship stages or a preference counselling.

Although LPU does not ignore other national entrance exams to some of its courses (such as JEE Main to engineering or NATA to design), LPUNEST is still the key entry point of most admissions. This is a fair system that makes the selection based on merit and encourages the students to show their potentials and they are started with confidence and support in LPU.

A candidate is eligible to appear in Entrance Examination if he/she has passed the 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognised University/ Board of any Indian State with English Physics Chemistry and Biology. You should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English Physics Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics Biology is compulsory). Has a minimum aggregate mark required in qualifying examination ie. 10+2 or equivalent. Note, the seats will be filled strictly on merit on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates at the Entrance Examination conducted by the Institute. The Entrance Examination will be conducted in English & Hindi language.
