It is very much valid in J&K.
University does not need AICTE approval as per the judgement by the Hon'ble Supreme court that the universities are required to seek approval from UGC only and it also clarifies that it is not required for a university to take an approval from AICTE wheras, it ( AICTE approval) is required for the stand alone institutions affiliated to any other university. LPU is is UGC approved under section no. 2(f) of UGC act 1956 vide notification no. f.9-10/2006 (CPP-1) dated 1st November 2006.

Hello pushpak,you didn't mention your %.but chances not finish there or you can say that now you need to do hard work.so concentrate on your studies and think positive.its high time which makes your career also you didn't mention that whether you give any entrance exam or not.if you give entrance and you got good rank then definitely you will get better college but if you not give any entrance then you can take direct admission for this you need to visit colleges directly.
dont take tension and not to worry if you have an interest in engineering field then definitely you can go for that.Now start your searching.
