Yes, IIFT selects candidates from all academic backgrounds. It would be to one's advantage if he/she is from arts background given the fact that most of the applying candidates are Engineers.

Although both the institute are good but Delhi university is better. On the basis of ur entrance exam u will be elegible for getting admission in certain top level colleges/institutes which provide quality education and better placement services. If u get admission in Delhi university it's good otherwise u can also try in certain other colleges also like:-

In my opinion, SRM University is better. It has world-wide recognition and has a reputation for providing amazing placements. The university has good infrastructure and ambiance with expert faculty members that makes the learning experience there quite merrier.
